Jillian Book was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2006 and concentrates her practice of law in the areas of Long Term Care, Medical Malpractice, and Premises Liability Litigation. Ms. Book previously worked as a litigation and trial attorney with a Chicago law firm, focusing on Insurance Defense and Long Term Care Litigation, before becoming in-house counsel for a local health care corporation. She has represented clients before the Illinois Department of Human Rights, Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Responsibility, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Book is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, Defense Research Institute, Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society, and serves on the Associate Board of the Illinois Lawyers’ Assistance Program. In 2019 and 2020, she was selected as a Illinois Rising Star.
Originally from Plainfield, Illinois, Ms. Book earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal/Social Justice from Lewis University in 2003, with Highest Honors. During her time at Lewis University, she was a member of the women’s golf team. Ms. Book earned the honor of Great Lakes Valley Academic All-Conference all four years and was also champion of the 2002 North Central College Invitational. Ms. Book obtained her Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2006. She was a member of the Journal of Public Law and Policy from 2004 through 2006, serving as both an Associate and Primary Editor. Ms. Book also completed volunteer trips with Habitat for Humanity Global Village to Costa Rica in 2014, and Paraguay in 2016.
