Scott C. Stevens was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2006 and the General Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2007. He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 2003 and the bar of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in 2005. His legal practice is concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice and hospital liability defense. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast until Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Stevens graduated summa cum laude from Spring Hill College in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in political science. During his undergraduate education, he studied overseas at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, and spent a semester in Washington, D.C., working in the Science and Technology (S&T) and Legal and Congressional Affairs sections of the Canadian Embassy. In 2003, he received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University where he served as a senior justice of the Moot Court Board. While in law school, Mr. Stevens was the champion of Tulane's junior appellate intraschool competition and a finalist in its senior appellate intraschool competition. Because of these and other achievements in brief-writing and oral advocacy, Mr. Stevens was inducted into the Order of Barristers. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. In 2007, he was named to serve in the Investigative Division of the Chicago Bar Association's Judicial Evaluation Committee. |
