Edward H. MacCabe was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1978, as well as the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, Northern District of Indiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He received his B.S. in 1973 from the University of Illinois and his J.D., with honors, from Northern Illinois University in 1978. Mr. MacCabe was a member of the Editorial Board for the Northern Illinois University Law Review, 1977-1978 (Casenote published) and was also a member of Delta Theta Phi. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. Mr. MacCabe is Martindale-Hubbell AV rated and is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (President 2003–04 and current Executive Committee Member), Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, and Trucking Industry Defense Association. He is listed in Top Lawyers of Chicago in Transportation Law, 2012. Mr. MacCabe has thirty eight years of defense litigation experience, and has tried over thirty jury cases to verdict on behalf of defendants, and prepared and argued numerous appeals. Mr. MacCabe has also negotiated numerous settlements of personal injury cases in amounts well below plaintiffs' demands and trial judges' recommendations. Mr. MacCabe’s practice areas include: Railroad Defense, Trucking Defense, Premises Liability, Construction Litigation, Products Liability and Asbestos Litigation.
