ADDENDUM TO NEWS UPDATE 04/18/2007 - LEBRON V. GOTTLEIB MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Plaintiffs filed their initial pleading challenging the constitutionality of the recent Tort Reform Act. The provisions being challenged as unconstitutional are:
- Section 2-1706.5 - Standards for Economic and Non-economic Damages
- Section 2-1704.5 - Guaranteed Payment of Future Medical Expenses and Costs of Life Care
- Section 8-2501 - Expert Witness Standards
- Section 2-622 -Healing Art Malpractice - Certificate of Merit
- Section 8-1901 - Admission of Liability-Effect
